We are thrilled to have Rabbi Geoffrey Goldberg and Cantor Sara Ruderman returning for 2017 High Holyday services.
Rabbi Goldberg previously served as year-round rabbi of Temple Beth Am, as well as at two other local Rochester congregations when he lived in the area previously, and we are excited for him to be officiating at this year's High Holyday services.
We conduct our service using Machzor Lev Shalem with a mixture of Hebrew and English with explanations of the service provided by the Rabbi. We endeavor to include all parts of the service halachically required without extending the length of the services unnecessarily. Our services include a sermon as well as a balance of congregational singing and traditional chazzanut.
There are honors including English readings and non-speaking parts available for guests and members alike.
Services will be held in our Brighton location: 2131 Elmwood Ave, Entrance A (in the Temple B'rith Kodesh building). All services will be held in Room 100 (to the right immediately after coming into the entrance). This is nearby our normal sanctuary, but will be a larger room to accommodate the increased number of attendees during the holidays.
There is no charge for High Holyday tickets this year, though we are asking that anyone planning on attending request tickets in advance. Detailed information on our shared parking arrangement with Temple B'rith Kodesh will be included with tickets.
This said, we would certainly very much appreciate donations of any amount to help us offset the cost of operating our High Holyday services.
Tickets may be requested by calling Estelle at 334-5647. If you have difficulty walking more than a short distance and will not be accompanied by someone who can drive you to the door, please inquire with Estelle about a "reserved parking pass".
